St. Pete Marathon

A full site design and build for St. Petersburg’s destination marathon, engineered as a structured content hub from day one.

The Project

St. Pete Marathon is a destination race hosted by the Florida nonprofit United Sports Association, held on a fast, flat, scenic waterfront course through St. Petersburg. Winsignia designed and built the official race website from the ground up, including a coach-led training program hub (St. Pete Run Club), a course overview, and an extensive FAQ section covering everything from race-day logistics and weather to parking, safety, and spectator tips.

Rather than building a typical event site with a schedule and a registration button, we treated it as a content hub, the same framework we use for every Winsignia build, so it would answer real runner questions directly instead of making people dig for them.

The Approach

/01

Content Architecture

Course, Training, About, and FAQ built as distinct, interlinked hubs instead of one long scrolling page, each answering a specific category of runner question.

/02

FAQ-First Writing

Every page leads with a direct answer before adding detail: the format both search engines and AI answer engines are built to extract and cite.

/03

Built to Be Found

Clean, fast WordPress/Elementor build with no bloat, technically healthy enough that the content architecture actually gets crawled and indexed.

Where It Stands Today

St. Pete Marathon is now ranking in Google for real race-related search terms, built entirely on a structured content hub rather than the years of backlinks and press coverage most established races rely on.

The site is also showing up in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Perplexity when people ask which marathons to run near St. Petersburg or Tampa. It’s proof that the SEO, AEO, and GEO framework applied together compounds faster than any one discipline alone.

Registrations have grown since launch, and that visibility is also translating into real interest from sponsorship and brand partners, drawn to a race that’s already surfacing wherever people search for one.
